About

1. Our cabinets are built a little different from most. No particleboard!

A. Sierra Style Frameless. Our standard style of cabinet, “The Sierra Style Frameless”, has full overlaydoors and drawers. Unlike most frameless cabinets, it has a solid top rail on base cabinets and a solid bottom rail on the uppers for added strength and to make under cabinet lighting convenient. This style features less wasted space between drawers and doors. We are using 3/4” American Made plywood for the cabinet box which has less formaldehyde in the glue.

B. Faceframe style. We do however still offer face frame cabinets with 1/2” overlays using solid wood frames, doors, and drawer fronts, along with 1/2” American Made Hardwood-plywood interiors. Finished ends are built with matching plywood (no paper veneers) or optional raised panel ends and are attached using Lock Mitered joints.

One big difference is the style of backs we use, whether faceframe or frameless. Instead of the typical ¼” or 1/8” thick back, we use ½” plywood for all our backs. This all adds to the stability of the cabinet while also providing a solid support to attach the cabinet to the wall at any location. Our shelves are adjustable in height and are built with ¾” Plywood. Our upper cabinets have a bottom panel that matches the rest of the cabinet, and gives it a finished appearance. This also provides a great location for undercabinet lighting and creates a cavity for concealing the wiring. We offer LED lighting for inside, underneath, or above the cabinets. These lights are 50,000 hour rated lights and are low heat and use less energy. They are available in warm, medium, or cool and they are dimmable.

2. No wasted space- we build to the nearest 1/16 of an inch compared with box cabinets that come in 3” increments and require you to use fillers to make up the difference. Because our cabinets are built stronger, we can leave out center stiles between doors which gives you 1 large opening instead of 2 smaller ones (great for large pots and pans). Cabinets come in any size up to 8’ long (tall cabinets up to 10’ high) for a faster and easier install. Check out our Corner Drawers and adjustable height rollout shelves as well as large pullouts in tall cabinets or above a fridge, all built for easy access.

3. Our cabinets come prefinished with your choice of stain. This gives you a superior finish to that of an on- site finish. We offer custom finishes such as glazing and distressing. We use a tough Conversion Varnish for all our cabinets which is more heat and water resistant than standard lacquer. It is a 40 to 50% solids finish as opposed to a 20 to 30% solids with a lacquer finish or a lower solids conversion varnish. This 2 part finish gives you the durability of polyurethane without the typical yellowing that comes along with polyurethane.

4. Our price includes crown molding for upper cabinets along with scribe trim and toekick trim for the base cabinets. For hardware, we use high quality Blum slides and hinges which gives a lot of of adjustability and durability. We offer many handle options for doors and drawers and include select handles in our quotes. Choose from popular brands such as Top Knobs, Amerock, Berenson, Schaub, Belwith –Keeler, Hershbergers, Jeffrey Alexander, Pride Decor, Virginia Tile, etc. Unlike some shops, we prefer to mount these to the doors and drawers before they leave the shop. If you prefer, we can use your handles to give you a custom look.

5. Also included are on-site visits with the electrician, plumber, and anyone else involved to help ensure a smoother install. We offer a 3D view of your cabinets before we begin building. This allows you to make any changes until you are satisfied with the design.

6. Being a custom shop, we welcome any special requests for interior doors, door and window trim, beam covers, fireplace mantles, stairs, hutches, desks, wood tops, etc. or any special pieces that you have a hard time finding. Just ask – We’ll be happy to help.
